Back in Nov 6, 2009, John Caldwell posted the first tweet about being an email geek. Since that time, we’ve all accepted and boasted about being a true email geek with anyone that would listen. With the Slack Channel that is wildly popular, and our #EmailGeekSail among others, being an email geek is cool.
Since this industry started, one of its central tenants has been to give back. This is one of the most accessible and giving industries in digital marketing from the very beginning where all the thought leaders shared their stories, strategies, approaches and tactics! Look around, there are insiders willing to help anyone, people standing up and volunteering their time to advance email marketing (Think EEC, ESPC, OI, and more). Hell, there’s a slack channel where for free, you can ask questions and get help. What other industry does that? It’s what has held us together as an industry for over 20 years as we all seek to lift all boats.
